Community nursing unveiled: Roadmap to a healthy population Kezia R. Joy Nurse Educator, SRM Hospital, Chennai Online published on 23 May, 2017. Abstract By the very definition of being a part of a healthy population, one needs to understand the complexities that govern health. As many of us understand and appreciate that health is a spectrum, a composite of attributes, equilibrium and a clear state of mind. Disparities and inequalities arise when this is equilibrium is touched. Subsequently these individuals require some form of therapy ranging from a preventive to therapeutic, conservative to curative, or promotive to rehabilitative. And to reach out to these masses that are plagued by ill-health, the easily available media to deliver this care/therapy is the healthcare industry. Fortunately the largest workforce in this industry are the nurses; and they might be the only professionals who serve as the interface in the healing industry. But the most unfortunate of this is that the most accessible nursing professionals in the healthcare are inaccessible to the needy public in ground reality.
