Abstract

An experiment was carried out to find out the influence of exogenous application of certain micronutrients on reproductive growth of cashew. Foliar application of zinc sulphate (0.5%) + borax (0.1%) recorded highest number of laterals (20.20) per square metre, flowering laterals (16) per square metre, perfect flowers (212) per panicle, male flowers (513) per panicle, total flowers (725) per panicle, fruits set (10.50) per panicle, fruit retention (8.0) per panicle, nut weight (9.13 g), apple weight (95.38 g) and nut yield (10.80 kg) per tree. From the study, it was found that the foliar application of zinc sulphate (0.5%) + borax (0.1%) is beneficial for increasing the nut yield through improvement in sex ratio, fruit set and fruit retention in cashew var. Bhaskara.
