Characterization of Rainfall of Jalna District on Talukawise Basis Gaikwad Swati D., Maniyar Vijay. G., Shinde Pramod B. Division of Agricultural Meteorology, College of Agriculture, Latur Marathwada Agricultural University, Parbhani Online published on 13 January, 2016. Abstract The daily taluka wise rainfall data of Jalna district was collected and studied for intra seasonal yearly, seasonal, monthly as well as weakly variations its deviation from normal of corresponding temporal variation. The data revealed that amongst the various talukas the annual rainfall ranged between 632 to 755 mm. The year to year variations was highest in Ambad taluka while lowest variation was noticed in Jafrabad taluka. The frequency distribution analysis for annual rainfall indicated that out of 30 years the normal rainfall ranged between 20 to 24 years. No savior deficient rainfall showed narrow variations followed by NE monsoon and highest variations in rest period of the year in almost all talukas. Jalna taluka receives the highest SW rainfall while the Ambad receive the highest NE rainfall. The trends of monthly rainfall seems to be ideal for delineating the cropping pattern of the district. The highest weekly rainfall ranged from 53mm-10mm between the MW 23 to MW 42. Top Keywords frequency distribution analysis, NE monsoon, temporal variation. Top | |
