Online published on 13 January, 2016. Abstract RAPD analysis of variants of Java citronella was carried out with twenty random primers which generated a total of 36 bands, RAPD data was used for generation of similarity matrix table which showed average similarity coefficient value of 0.72. Among the twenty primers, only seven primers OPF-3, OPF-4, OPF-5, OPF-7, OPF-8, OPF-9, and OPF-10 were found highly polymorphic and have potential for identification and characterization of genetic relationship among the twenty seven variants of Java citronella. This would be helpful in crop improvement programme and information obtained here could be valuable for conservation of different variants of Java citronella.
