Effect of Different Concentrations of IBA and NAA on Air Layering of Cashewnut cv. Vengurla 4 Gohil J. H. Department of Fruit Science, ASPEE College of Gujarat. Email: jigar.gohil78@gmail.com Online published on 24 December, 2014. Abstract The present experiment was carried out at Agriculture Experimental Station, Navsari Agricultural University, Paria, Ta-Pardi, Dist- Valsad during the year 2010–2011, to investigate the effect of different concentrations of IBA and NAA on air layering of cashewnut cv. Vengurla 4. The treatments compoised of various levels of IBA and NAA (2000, 4000, 6000 mgl−) and its combinations and control in randomized block design (RBD) withten treatments and three replications. The experimental evidences indicating that 4000 mgl1 IBA + 4000 mgl1 NAA had taken minimum days (32.10) for root initiation as compared to other treatments in air layering of cashewnut cv. Vengurla 4. Number of primary roots (11.83), length of primary root (4.50 cm), diameter of primary root (4.03 mm), survival percentage (63.30), number of new shoots per layer (2.86), number of leaves per layer (12.78) and dry weight (17.64 g) also found significantly higher in same treatment than other treatments and it was followed by 2000 mgl−1 IBA + 2000 mgl−1 NAA (T7). Fresh biomass of roots was found non-significant. Top Keywords Cashewnut, IBA, NAA, Air layering. Top | |
