Abstract An experiment was conducted in the Precision Farming Development Centre farms at Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute, Coimbatore to standardize the water requirement for Glory lily (Gloriosa superba L.) through drip irrigation system. The treatments were laid out in Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 6 treatments comprised of drip irrigation daily at 100% Cumulative Pan Evaporation (CPE), drip irrigation once in two days at 100% CPE, Drip irrigation at 80, 60 and 40% CPE and surface irrigation at 7 days interval as control. Results of the field experiment revealed that the drip irrigation @ 60% CPE recorded the highest seed and tuber yield of glory lily compared to other treatments. It was recorded the highest seedand tuber yield of 1112.20 kg/ha and 2060.22 kg/ha with a yield increase to the tune of 331.82 kg/ha and 411.67 kg/ha respectively over control. Top Keywords Glory lily, drip irrigation, water requirement, plant growth parameters and yield. Top |
