Abstract The aim of the present study was designed to compare the possible therapeutic effects of Terminalia arjuna and Murraya koenigii methanolic extracts against diabetes. Serum glucose level, lipid profile and pancreas histology were estimated after administration of the extracts. Applied doses did not cause any acute toxicity or behavioral changes. In conclusion, T. arjuna produced a significant hypoglycemic effect while M. koenigii prove to have a hypolipidemic activity at dose level of 200 mg/kg.
