Online published on 31 October, 2011. Abstract Laboratory prepared soluble liquid (SL) and emulsifiable concentrate (EC) of monocrotophos (MCP), pre and post-stored SL (54 ± 1°C), pre- and post-expiry dated commercial MCP formulations and MCP metabolites namely monomethyl acetoacetamide (MMA), Cl-MMA and O-O dimethyl phosphate (DMP) were assessed for their phytocompatibility on two month old cotton plants. At lower concentrations (0.03 to 0.06%) of MCP, none of the samples showed phytotoxicity symptoms but at 0.07% and abovee visual phytotoxicity symptoms were noticed. Cyclohexanone based products showed the least adverse effect. Top Keywords Monocrotophos, metabolites, degradation, cotton, phytocompatibility. Top |
