Abstract

The present study intends to investigate the relationship between two levels (moderate and high) of psychological well-being and life satisfaction in two distinct age groups of highly emotionally intelligent working professionals in the corporate sector. This study aimed to investigate the impact of age differences on psychological well-being and life satisfaction. Psychological well-being is a state of psychological resilience and adjustment to the opportunities and challenges in front of an individual. In contrast, life satisfaction means derived contentment and meaning from the output you have offered to your life and organization. Both are very closely associated concepts and have been studied in the past. Still, situations like the ‘New Normal’ do not enter the lives of individuals every day; therefore, exploring the impact of well-being and life satisfaction regained its importance among researchers. A total sample of 60 working professionals was selected through purposive sampling. The group was split into two age groups (ages 21 to 30 and 30 to 40) and two psychological well-being levels (moderate and high). A suitable statistical tool was used to analyze the data gathered online. The findings suggest that age variations do not impact working professionals’ psychological well-being and life satisfaction. Psychological well-being and life satisfaction are significantly positively correlated for emotionally intelligent working professionals. Professionals exhibiting a moderate degree of psychological well-being also demonstrate a moderate level of life satisfaction; conversely, high psychological well-being is correlated with high life satisfaction. It is concluded that, regardless of age, working professionals’ life satisfaction in the new normal is directly correlated with moderate and high psychological well-being levels.
