Online Published on 21 April, 2023. Abstract Rapid information and communication technology advances have enhanced its availability and usefulness, making its expansion inevitable. Individuals living in the contemporary environments have also changed as a result of this transformation. Rural libraries, as community centers, can only serve the local community’s information requirements for socioeconomic, cultural, and educational growth. This article examines the ICT infrastructure availability at rural public libraries in Karnataka’s Bangalore Rural District. It also determines the level of ICT literacy among library professionals who utilise rural public libraries in Karnataka’s Bangalore Rural District. Only 82 computer systems are available in 18 (21.42%) of the 84 rural public libraries in Bangalore Rural District. The Bangalore Rural District’s 66 (78.57%) rural public libraries must provide ICT infrastructure or services to their library users and ICT literacy needs to be improved.
