Data breaches: A global exposure

Abstract

Data has turn out to be one of the most important aspects of a business in the digital age. Organizations face considerable risks from data leaking, including significant reputational harm and financial losses. Data breaches are a steady threat to every type of businesses. Regardless matters the type of breach, the consequences are always the same. This paper is focused on analyzing data breaches made public since the year 2006 to 2019 that led to the loss of millions of individual records, which have a significant financial and technical impact. Also, because hacker breaches are the most devastating. By focusing on the most attacked industry, this study will increase knowledge regarding cyber breaches and secure businesses'data. The study also provides information on business data breach dangers, recent data leak occurrences, various state-of-the-art prevention and detection approaches, new difficulties, promising solutions for interested readers.
