Abstract Purpose In a turbulent and dynamic environment, organisations increasingly rely on "being entrepreneurial" to seek new opportunities to sustain and create new competitive advantages. The study aimed to develop and test a theoretical model exploring the effect of Entrepreneurial Orientation (EO) on the innovative performance of the organisation and assessing whether human capital moderates this relationship. Design/Methodology/Approach Data were collected from 198 respondents working in various IT companies in Delhi NCR, and Partial Least Square based Sequential Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) was applied for hypothesis testing. Findings The research findings suggest that EO and human capital have a positive, significant relationship with innovative performance. However, no statistically significant relationship was found for the moderating role of human capital in the relationship between EO and the innovative performance of the organisations. As the study is exploratory, the findings are not conclusive. Originality/Value The specific effect of human capital on the innovative performance of an organisation and its impact as a moderator between the relationship of EO and innovative performance is currently understudied. The study will help organisations understand the impact of human capital on various aspects of organisational performance.
