Age related changes in the phagocytic activity of peripheral blood macrophages

Abstract

The phagocytic activity of peripheral blood macrophages was studied in chicks from day of hatch to day 60 at 5 days intervals. The results indicated that the macrophage function increased from 5th to 60th day of development and no phagocytic activity was evident on the day of hatching.
