Abstract A thorough survey of Jammu and Kashmir State was conducted in five villages of Leh district to select superior genotypes of grape and out of a large population (more than two hundred) ten best genotypes were selected and documented in this paper. Selected genotypes were evaluated for all the important non metric and metric traits. Among selected genotypes GL-01 registered maximum bunch length (23.50 cm), bunch breadth (13.07 cm), number of bunches per vine (152) and number of berries per bunch (110). Genotype GL-29 recorded maximum berry length (1.82 cm) and berry breadth (1.64 cm) and GL-45 attained maximum berry weight (1.92 g). Genotype GL-34 scored maximum value for total soluble solids (22.9 oB) and total sugars (12.82%) and minimum acidity was registered in GL-13 (0.16%) and GL-47 (0.16%). Juice content was maximum (93.33%) in GL-01 and GL-29. Top Keywords Grape, characters, genotypes, vine, bunch, berry, selection. Top |
