Abstract The present study is conducted to evaluate the bio-pesticidal efficacy of two plants, Euphorbia tithymaloides and Ocimum basilicum against C. analis infesting Cicer arietinum (chickpea) seeds during storage. Acetone and methanol extracts of dried inflorescence, leaves mixture, seeds of O. basilicum and stems of E. tithymaloides were prepared and employed at different concentrations of 5, 10 and 20% with three replicas each. 100% mortality of adults was observed on 9th and 10th day of treatment at 20% conc. of acetone extract of inflorescence and leaves mixture of O. basilicum and stem extract of E. tithymalodies respectively. Efficacy of these extracts was observed on adult mortality, fecundity and F1 adult emergence. Results revealed that inflorescence and leaves mixture extracts of O. basilicum and E. tithymalodies stem extracts were effective in reducing life span, fecundity and adult emergence of C. analis among all the treatments.
