Abstract The aim of this research was to analyze the potential of lemongrass as a natural repellent in reducing the population of whitefly pests on chili pepper plants. The method used was experimental, with treatments involving the use of lemongrass as a natural repellent on cayenne pepper plants, and a control group without the use of lemongrass. The results showed that citronella had a significant effect in reducing the abundance of whitefly, with a Cohen’s d effect size of 2.004 (Large effect). Therefore, citronella has great potential as a natural repellent for pests in agricultural fields.
