Abstract

A field experiment was conducted at farmer's field to assess the effect of nutritional manipulation on brinjal shoot and fruit borer, Leucinodes orbonalis Guen. Farm Yard Manure (FYM), Biofertilisers, oil cakes of neem, pungam, mahua and poultry manures were used as organic source of nutrients. In addition the egg parasitiod T.chilonis has released @ 2.5 cc/ha on 30 and 60 DAT as the fruit borer incidence noticed in the field. The results indicated that the per cent shoot and fruit borer damage was significantly less and fruit yield was maximum in the treatment with FYM (12.5t/ha) + biofertilizers (2 Kg/ha) + neem cake (800 Kg/ha) followed by two releases of T. chilonis.
