Abstract From a study conducted among the rural youth in Delhi and Sonipat region of National Capital Region, it has been found that the measure of entrepreneurial success among farm entrepreneurs was moderate. The entrepreneurial success index developed for the study included three profitability factors: amount of initial investment, total income earned, net profit gained, and four other factors: purposes of expenditure (productive or consumptive), knowledge and skills gained in marketing, level of satisfaction, and attempts made at expansion/diversification. The mean score of entrepreneurial success index was 75.55. About 45 per cent of respondents achieved high degree of success and another 40 per cent of rural youth have achieved very high degree of entrepreneurial success. Among the factors affecting entrepreneurial success of farm entrepreneurs the most significant variables were: length of experience, risk taking willingness, and marketing management, which were significant at 0.05 level of probability. Thus it can be concluded that the young farmers with little experience could succeed because of their willingness to take calculated moderate risks and managing well their marketing.
