Indexing of Internet Spacenews Items Using “Greenstone” Software for Intranet Users: A Case Report Bindu B., Ajesh C., Sugumaran C. Cryo Documentation Cell, Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre, Indian Space Research Organisation, Valiamala - Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. Abstract In this report the information service “Spacenews” - its preparation and indexing using the digital library software GSDL (Greenstone Digital Library) software - is described. The setup of the Documentation Cell of the Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC) of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is briefly described. One of the information services of the Documentation Cell is “Internet News” through intranet as “Spacenews”. Daily in the morning the Internet is browsed, news items of interest to the organization are identified and downloaded on to the local computer. The downloaded news are transferred to the Documentation Server. The news items are reorganized and displayed on our website with title and abstract. To get the full information, the user is guided to the full text. Thus users can get relevant Internet news on their intranet computers in their work place.
