Online published on 2 April, 2016. Abstract Suspecting bacterial conjunctivity, a total of 20 ocular discharge samples out of 120 emu birds were subjected for culture and antibiogram. S. aureus and P. aueruginosa were isolated. The antibiogram revealed sensitivity to Amoxicillin+Clavunate, Imipenam and resistance to Gentamicin, Tetracyclines and Cephalosporins. All the birds recovered uneventfully after treatment with oral anti-infectives along with farm disinfection. Top Keywords Antibiogram, bacteria, emu, infectious conjunctivitis, treatment. Top |
