Abstract A Kankrej heifer was presented with multiple, circumscribed, discrete, grayish crusty lesions with peripheral erythema scattered over the neck, shoulder, trunk and hind quarters. Laboratory examination of epilated hairs on KOH mount revealed presence of arthrospores in endothrix pattern and mycological culture on SDA resulted in growth of T. verrucosum. Treatment with Povidone-iodine whole body spray every third day and topical application of Povidone ointment on lesions once every day for 18 days resulted in complete lesion resolution and hair regrowth. Top Keywords Bovine, dermatophyte, iodine, Trichophyton verrucosum. Top |
