Online published on 2 April, 2016. Abstract A one month old calf was presented with inappetance and diarrhoea since last three days. Physical examination revealed dullness and depression with pyrexia, moderate dehydration and severe mucoid diarrhoea. The faecal sample was cultured and produced colonies of Salmonella. Further, Salmonella typhimurium was confirmed by polymerised chain reaction (PCR). The calf was successfully managed with rigorous fluid therapy (mixture of isotonic NaHCO3, isotonic normal saline and 5% dextrose normal saline), Sulphonamide and Trimethoprim combination and other supportives.
