Abstract

A rabbit farm with 85 adult rabbits was investigated for genital problems. 23 Rabbits (12 males and 11 females) had multiple vesicles covered with scabs and ulcers in genital regions, lips and eyelids. The condition was diagnosed as treponematosis based on characteristic clinical symptoms and dark field microscopy. All 85 rabbits were treated with Streptopenicillin subcutaneously. The ailing animals showed signs of healing by 5th day of treatment and complete recovery by 20th post treatment day.
