Abstract The study describes efficacy of leucocytes enriched autologous plasma in management of endometritis in cows. A total of 16 parous crossbred cows with endometritis were randomly divided in two groups. The animals of group I (n=10) were treated with single intrauterine (IU) infusion of 100 ml autologous plasma along with leucocytes, whereas the control cows of group II (n=6) received single infusion of 100 ml sterilized normal saline. The efficacy of treatment was assessed based on evaluation of cervico-vaginal mucus (CVM), white side test, pH value and bacterial load at pre and post treatment estrus. The treatment resulted in significant reduction in bacterial load, decline in pH of CVM and 80% of animals showed negative in white side test as compared to only 16.7% animals of control group. The overall pregnancy rate at subsequent estrus was 70% in group I in comparison to nil pregnancy in control group. Top Keywords Autologous plasma, bacterial load, cow, endometritis, leucocyte. Top |
