Abstract Septic Metritis in bovines were studied in six crossbred cows which were reported with recent calving, continuous straining and expulsion of foul smelling mucopurulent discharge from vagina. All six animals showed elevated temperature, increased respiration, anorexia, drop in milk production and painful defecation and urination. The cases were diagnosed as septic metritis, sequalae to retention of foetal membrane. All animals were successfully treated with systematic and intrauterine antibiotics and other supportive drugs.
