Abstract

A case of uterine eversion in a six year old Jersey crossbred cow at her fourth lactation was attended. The cow had given birth to a large size male foetus with external assistance but immediately after expulsion of foetus, uterus was everted along with some parts of placenta. The case was treated with epidural anaesthesia, antihistaminics, antibiotics locally and parenterally, dextrose 5% solution, calcium borogluconate (10%) solution along with analgesic parentally. The everted part of uterus was replaced successfully and knot sutures were placed thereafter. The animal was kept standing for 24 hours in a slanting position with front side facing down. The animal recovered without any further complications.
