Abstract Two cases of melanocytic tumour, which is rare in cattle, have been reported. One in an aged nondescript bullock at its left hock jointwhile the other in an aged Kankrej cow at the right ventrolateral region of elbow joint. In both the cases the growth grossly was firm hard duly covered with intact hairy skin. The epithelial root sheath of hair follicles, dermis and underlying musculature were studded with melanin pigments. The melanocytes were partially or completely masked by melanin granules obscuring its cellular morphology. The growths were diagnosed as melanocytic tumour. The gross and histomorphological findings have been described and discussed. Top Keywords Bullock, Cow, Melanocytic tumors. Top |
