Abstract In the present study, skin tumours in male wistar rats were induced experimentally by employing 1% DMBA (7, 12 -Dimethylbenz (a) anthracene) (2.5mg DMBA in 0.25ml of acetone to each rat) for evaluation and validation of new anticancer therapeutic modules. All the rats developed squamous cell carcinomas in 20 to 25 weeks as confirmed by histopathology, mitotic index, AgNOR staining and PCNA staining of tumour tissues.
