Abstract An outbreak of acute hepatic and pneumonic cysticercosis occurred in nine Barbari goats of different age group from an organized goat farm in northern India. Post-mortem examination showed massive infection with immature cysts of Cysticercus tenuicollis of canine tapeworm Taenia hydatigena in the liver, lungs and the peritoneal cavity. Grossly, the liver and lungs showed congestion and haemorrogic tracts with attached cysts. Microscopically, the sections revealed different lesions suggestive of hepatitis and pneumonitis.
