Abstract A rare case of massive envenomation in a mare bitten by large number of honey bees was reported at Clinical Veterinary Teaching Complex, GADVASU, Ludhiana with local cutaneous swelling at multiple sites, hypersensitivity, depression and shock. Post mortem examination of the animal revealed large sized haemorrhagic spleen, kidneys were congested, haemorrhagic and diffusely reddish. Micro-scopic examination revealed acute renal tubular necrosis, hemoglobinuric nephrosis, congestion in the intestine along with necrosis of villi.
