Abstract The present study indicated that N-acetyl-thiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid could not nullify the toxicological effect of carbon tetra-chloride in liver of rat. Further, hepatotoxic activity of carbon tetrachloride was aggravated by N-acetyl-thiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid whenever both were used in combination therapy. Besides, N-acetyl-thiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid alone produced mild hepatotoxic activity in rats, so it was concluded that N-acetyl-thiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid was not a hepatoprotective agent in rat.
