Abstract The present study was conducted in broilers to determine the toxic effect of diclofenac sodium and therapeutic effect of Boerhaavia diffusa plant. For this birds of one group were given diclofenac sodium @ 0.25 mg/kg body weight daily for 28 days and other group was given same dose of diclofenac sodium along with extract of Boerhaavia diffusa @ 125 mg/kg body weight. By studying the clinical, hematological, serobiochemical and pathomorphological changes it was observed that diclofenac sodium have nephrotoxic potential and causes liver disorder while the plants possess hemopoietic properties, reparative effects on renal parenchyma, ameliorative effect on uric acid metabolism, anabolic activities in the body and restoration of physiological function of the organs.
