Abstract Women since ancient times have taken a leading role in the development of the society. They often are only associated with household work and yet are not given much importance in family decision makings. Often it is seen in some families that women are considered burdensome and therefore they are denied their basic rights of education and even legal rights of owning land. This pattern of discrimination against women is seen around the world. In every country women are the backbone of agriculture. Agriculture is a way to empower a lot of women.
