Abstract The study investigates the factors that make women different; the natural abilities and qualities that differentiate them from their male counterparts when it comes to leadership. The purpose of this study is to also investigate the effect of women as leaders in organizations. This study is a conceptual research that focuses on exploring the issues and challenges that women face in organizations. This study analyses women's issues in organizations like the glass ceiling, lack of empowerment, prejudice and discrimination, and resistance. The study attempts to find solutions that can help women break the challenges such as minimizing gender biases, creating organizational buy-in, giving women more job opportunities and giving women more network platforms. The study also examines the statistics of women in leadership positions globally and specifically in Bahrain, The study revealed that the number of women in higher positions has been increasing. In comparison to men, women still have little opportunities in top management. Successful organizations are those who involved both gender in the decision-making, because men and women are different and each of them has a different perception of the situation.
