The Impact of different policy initiatives on Socio-Economic Development: A comparative study of Singapore and Taiwan

Abstract

Government policies play a central role in socio-economic development of any state as the governments are most powerful bodies inside their territories. Therefore, this study is conducted to analyze the paths difference and similarities between two countries-Singapore and Taiwan in order to find out how two different nations achieve the almost similar outcome with similar general approach but different policy initiatives. The research concluded at the end that there are some policies like human resource and social development policy was similar in some point of time in both countries while the other policy initiatives differ in substantial way e.g. FDI, institutional development, tax policy and so on.
