A study on the profitability of raising broiler under semi-intensive system in rural areas

Abstract

Profitability of raising broiler under semi-scavenging system was studied. Data obtained from the experiment showed that profit of intensive system increased from 6th week to 8th week of age but at 9th week, it declined slightly. However, in semi-scavenging system, profit increased from 6th week to 9th week of age. At 6th week, profit was Rs.10.81 in intensive system and Rs.5.22 in semi-scavenging system. The corresponding profit at 9th week was Rs. 13. 17 and Rs.20.24. The highest profit was achieved at 8th week of age (Rs. 13.27) in intensive system and at 9th week of age (Rs.20.24) in semi-scavenging system.
