Selection criteria for salt tolerance in lentil germplasm I. germination and seedling traits Sarkar Basudeb, Shukla Arvind Department of Plant Breeding, G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar 263 145 (Uttar Pradesh). Abstract The study was conducted for salt tolerance capacity and variability in lentil germplasm at different levels of salinity. The observations on 60 genotypes indicated a significant reduction in germination and seedling characters at varying levels of salt stress upto 16.3 ds/m EC. A combination of high germination and above 1 plumule/radicle ratio can give a criteria for selection of tolerant genotypes. Top Keywords Lentil, salt tolerance, selection criteria. Top | |
