Saket-4) and succeeding wheat (cv. HD 2285) crops with the objectives to study the influence of tillage systems and moisture regimes on soil physical environment, root growth and productivity. Higher puddling index and reduction in percolation rate was found with conventional compared to reduced puddling. Root growth of rice was significantly affected by tillage systems and moisture regimes but in succeeding wheat, it was significantly affected by moisture regimes only. Grain yield of rice, wheat and the system was significantly influenced by tillage systems as well as moisture regimes. Top Key words Tillage systems, moisture regimes, puddling Index, percolation rate, rice-wheat system. Top |
