The experiment comprised of eight treatments in order of Tt = Polang oilcake @ 0.5 g/kg soil, T 2 = Polang oilcake @ 1.0 g/kg soil, T3 = Polang oilcake @ 1.5 g/kg soil, T4 = Mahua oilcake @ 0.5 g/kg soil, T5 = Mahua oilcake @ 1.0 g/kg soil, T6 = Mahua oilcake @ 1.5 g/kg soil, T7 = Neem oilcake @ 1.0 g/kg soil (Standard check) and T8 = Untreated control. Each treatment was replicated thrice following Completely Randomized Design. Except the untreated check, all other treatments showed maximum plant height, better root length, higher dry and fresh weight of shoot and root, maximum root volume and effective in reducing root galls and root knot nematode population in soil over untreated check. Among these various treatments, T7 where neem cake @ 1.0 g/kg soil (Standard check) and T6 where Mahua cake @ 1.5 g/kg soil were applied in pot soil, exhibited significantly better result in plant growth parameters and reduction in population growth of root knot nematode and reduced root galls.
