Abstract

Surveys conducted for root-knot nematodes in 20 plain and 10 hilly districts of Uttar Pradesh showed that four species, M. incognita, M. javanica, M. arenaria and M. hapla were associated with vegetable crops in the area. However, their association and frequencies varied with different vegetables. In general their preferences were highest with eggplant followed by cucumber, okra, tomato, pepper and lowest with cabbage and cauliflower.
