Preliminary observations on interaction of root-knot nematode and potash in flue-cured tobacco Ramakrishnayya B.V., Hussaini S.S. C.T.R.I. Research Station, Hunsur, Karnataka, India. Abstract During surveys for root knot nematode, flue-cured tobacco crop, in certain fields, showed potash deficiency symptoms on leaves. A field trial was, therefore, conducted to work out possible interaction between nematodes and potash uptake. Plant yield characters, per cent nicotine, sugars and potassium increased after fumigation while only nicotine and potash increased with potash application.
