Abstract

DNA technology has been exemplified as a mighty development in forensic science. The forensic utility of DNA profiling technique has proved to be a cutting edge in the field of molecular genetics. We present two cases selected from our routine casework performed at FSL Delhi that comprise of difficult forensic samples viz. soft and hard tissues. These cases were solved using DNA technology with increased number of autosomal and Y chromosomal markers. The technology aided not only to nab the accused but also to exonerate the suspect and is no doubt a boon to the investigating agencies
