Abstract Background Cephalic index also known as Cranial Index or Index of breadth is important parameter in craniometrical studies which help to differentiate human races and sex. It is useful tool in Forensic Medicine, anthropology and genetic studies. Aims and Objectives In present study attempt has been made to find out Cephalic Index in male and females of Madhya Pradesh. Material and Method This study was carried out on 296 males and females of Madhya Pradesh in age group of 20–25 years. Cranial length and breadth was taken and Cephalic Index calculated. Results Mean value for cephalic index is 75.32 for males and 76.24 for females. Conclusion: -Majority of population in this study group is mesocephalic.
