Abstract

Thirteen media were studied for growing chrysanthemum and their effect on nutrient status. Plants growing on compost amended substrates had adequate levels of all nutrient elements. Soil performed poorly for all observations. It can be expected that adequate nutrient levels in compost containing substrates, due to the growth promoting abilities of compost influenced by presence of minor elements, organic matter, micro-organisms and growth regulating substances lead to optimum plant growth and flowering.
