Micropropagation of Aneuploid guava Meghwal P.R.*, Singh S.K., Sharma H.C. Division of Fruits and Horticultural Technology, Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi 110012 *Present address: Central Arid Zone Research Institute, Jodhpur 342 003
Summary In vitro clonal propagation of Aneuploid No. 82, an important dwarfing rootstock for guava, was achieved using nodal explant. Woody plant medium (WPM) supplemented with 2 mg/litre BAP was found to be best medium for culture initiation, while the same medium with lower doses of BAP (1 mg/litre) produced highest number as well as length of shoot. A significant effect of different basal media on quality of shoot during proliferation was also observed. Addition of dual auxins (IBA & NAA) @ 0.2 mg/litre each resulted in higher frequency of rooting. Top | | | |
