Genetic Variability and Correlation Studies in Bitter Gourd (Momordica Charantia L.) Mangal J. L., Dixit J., Pandita M. L., Sindhu A. S. Department of Vegetable Crops, H. A. U., Hissar-Haryana Summary Genetic parameters and correlations were studied in twenty-one cultivars of bitter gourd. High estimates of heritability along with high genetic advance and genetic coefficient of variation were recorded for yield, number of fruits weight of fruit, number of branches per plant and plant height. Number of days to first female flower and number of lobings per leaf showed lower values of these estimates. Significant positive correlation coefficients were observed between yield and number of fruits and weight of fruit but negative correlation with days to flowering. Top | |
