Online Published on 31 August, 2024. Abstract Beekeeping has been practiced in India since ages. The present study was carried out in Oujari village, Khetri Kamrup district Assam from February 2021 to September 2021 to assess the beekeeping here. In the study area Apis cerana indica and Apis mellifera were found domesticated, and information about the beekeeping practices and different management practices were documented. It was observed that beekeeping is an interesting an ideal agro-based additional activity, providing major income to the people augmenting livelihood which might help to alleviate poverty in the long run.
