He has published 2 Books, compiled 2 bibliographies and has over 50 publications and is on the Editorial Board of 4 reputed international and national journals of Library and Information Science. Dr. Hasan was the first Borlaug Fellow (PostDoc) from Developing Countries in Library Information Systems at Cornell University, New York, USA in 2006 and was awarded Outstanding as a participant by the Cornell University. He has successfully implemented 3 World Bank aided Projects on Library Automation/Digitization, Institutional Repositories. His area of interest includes: eBooks, Scientometrics/mapping, CAS/SDI, Institutional Repositories, RFID, eResources Consortia, Website and other automation related activities in Libraries. |
Mr. Amit Dhar, has worked as Asst. Librarian in the Govt. College Dharamsala from 2002–07 and then as Sr. Research Fellow at CSK HP Agriculture University, Palampur in the World Bank aided project, eGRANTH Project. Presently he is working as Asstt. Abstract Digital Content Management System (DCMS) is a software system that provides preservation, organization and dissemination services for digital collections. The paper covers DCMS, its important features, process, advantages and the types of contents. Need and types of content management systems are explained along with the systems. The role of libraries, existing steps and standards in DCMS has been elaborated critically. The paper concludes that the libraries should play key role by developing expertise in the areas of XML and metadata and the Librarians should take the lead in developing content management and managing future digital libraries.
