Zinc utilization efficiency (zue) in different genotypes of rice (Oryza sativa l.) Nagarathna T. K., Shankar A. G., Shadakshari Y. G., Parama V. R. Ramakrishna, Sanjay M. T. Department of Soil Science, Agriculture College (UAS), V. C. Farm, Mandya-571 405, Karnataka, India, (e-mail: nagarathnavijay@rediffmail.com) Online published on 19 March, 2018. Abstract Zinc utilization efficiency (ZUE) and effect of total leaf zinc (Zn) on productivity were examined in 22 germplasm lines of rice. The results revealed that there was a significant genetic variability within high and low leaf Zn types with regards to ZUE and the genotypes with low leaf Zn showed relatively high ZUE. A positive significant relationship was seen between total leaf Zn and grain yield and also with total dry matter (TDM). Increasing Zn acquisition may have a positive effect on growth, development and productivity in rice genotypes. Top Keywords Rice, Zinc acquisition, Zinc utilization efficiency. Top | |
