Mycology and Plant Pathology Research Laboratory, Department of Botany, Shivaji University, Kolhapur, 416004 (M.S.) India Online published on 6 October, 2021. Abstract Top rot is one of the serious diseases of bajra causing severe yield loss. During present investigation, the conditions suitable for the growth of Fusarium verticillioides causing top rotwere studied. Optimum temperature for growth of F.verticillioides was 28 ± 2°C, while the temperatures 0°C, 5°C and 40°C were inhibitory forthe growth of F. verticillioides. The pH value within the range of 3.5 to 9.5 favored growth of F. verticillioides. Normal light was suitable for growth of F. verticillioides.
